Pumping Station

Part of a £6m project for West of Scotland water, the Newton Pumping Station sits on the main access well to the sewer taken under the river Ayr. It houses several submersible pumps and emergency screeing equipment as part of the improved sewerage scheme for the entire west coast of Ayrshire.
Our remit was to design the main building enclosing this equipment along with the site landscaping and sea defence barriers. Being only 10m from high tide the design had to look impressive whilst being very practical. |
