This site was formally a boat yard next to Newton-On-Ayr station. An interseting brief to add to the existing facilities housed in the old station buildings. The alterations would provide reception, waiting, interview and viewing areas, as well as staff rooms, and offices with kitchen and toilet facilities.
A 'Y' shaped building took shape to accomodate these to best advantage in a tapering site. A covered area linked the viewing rooms with the existing chapel, to house the hearse unloading facility. A compact solution that came in below budget due to much client involvement in procurement and running the contract. |
